What We Believe
I-MO Christian Service Camp, as an organization supported by the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, is devoted to the restoration of New Testament Christianity. We are an independent brotherhood of churches that cooperate together to provide the funding, facilities, and faculty for this camp.
I-MO Camp believes the following:
Jesus Christ is the One and Only Divine Son of God (Luke 1:35), the promised Savior (Luke 2:11), and the Word (John 1:1-3. 14). Though equal with God, He stepped down, became man, suffered an unjust death, thereby achieving the way of salvation for humans and God’s highest position for Himself (Philippians 2:5-11).
The church is the one Jesus promised to build (Matthew 16:18). The church’s foundation is the solid rock of truth that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). The Lord adds the obedient to the church (Acts 2:47).
Salvation (and membership in the church) happens when a human:
1. Hears the message about Christ (Romans 10:17)
2. Believes and accepts the message about Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
3. Repents of his/her sinful lifestyle and decides to walk a new life in Christ (Acts 19:18-19)
4. Confesses his/her faith in Christ (Acts 8:36-37)
5. Is immersed in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12)
Concerning the leadership and authority of the church, Jesus Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18). In Ephesians 4:11 Jesus gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Since none of these original folk are alive today, the New Testament is our only source of final authority now and until He comes again.
